Why does a cat crave junk food?

    From my experience mainly with cats……..my cats love chocolate. The things like chips and nuts they want for the salt.

    My beloved cat eats everything I eat, plus her own food.
    My sister’s cat likes cucumbers, oatmeal, pea soup, fresh eggs.
    Enjoy his/her personality. Cats are superior creatures and they like compliments. Weird - is hardly a compliment. May I suggest - Sweet Tooth?
    It is also possible that your mom’s cat is living his/her 9th(last) life and one day will ask for cold beer or single malt whisky.

    Typically with any animal as long as there is food available for them to eat then they will NOT starve themselves. A cat most of the time can go over a week and a half and not eat and be perfectly fine. They really shouldn’t have that kind of stuff so I would just out-wait the cat. They can be stubborn but I promise you, he won’t get sick if he doesn’t eat for a few days or even a week.

    Your mother’s cat has been trained to eat rubbish by your mother. Just the same as you have.

    You should encourage it to eat proper food: small birds, mice, raw meat, fish. Even pet food if necessary.

    By feeding it rubbish you are killing it.

    junk food is terrible for cats! and chocolate can be deadly. even in small doses. the cats likes that stuff, well, because you give it to him! it can cause all kinds of health problems, from kidney stones to death..altho i did have a cat that would steal mcdonalds french fries, they were her favorite! but to answer your question why do they like junk food? bc they are scavengers by nature and it is a survival instinct

    I agree that this junk food infatuation is NOT a good thing. I also agree that this is something that your mom has perpetuated. My cat would not eat junk food if I handed it to him in a golden kitty-dish; he’s been trained that way from day one.
