Why do people crave sweets like chocolate?

I just had my long craved for chocolate bar.:P and wondered why do some people (like me) can’t stay away from sweets no longer than two weeks while my friends don’t like/eat sweets at all.

I see lots of good lowfat sweets out there, but I crave salty spicy snacks that are not flat and dry?
